What first drew you to Under the Oaks for your wedding ceremony?

Something that was important to me was not only having a stunning venue but working with people who were kind and welcoming. When I was doing research for my wedding day, I saw many companies who seemed to be very “transactional”. I found Under the oaks and decided to send an email. Almost immediately I received a response and asked to set up a phone call. After talking to Danielle, I knew this was where I wanted to get married!!!

From the start, you embraced a DIY approach—how did you bring that vision to life? Tell us about your colors, décor, and the personal touches that made the ceremony uniquely yours.

Last year, I started an event planning business with my best friend, I quickly learned that a lot of the things we all want at a wedding can be made at home!!! Not only does it turn out cute, it’s more personal and hold greater memories.

When it came to my vision on how I wanted my day to look,  I took a lot of inspiration from looking at photos on Pinterest and scrolling on Instagram. I decided on the “coastal pastel” vibes. I mapped out what I wanted,  what I needed and how I could make that happen. Than I start by going to my favorite place, the craft store!!!!

From creating my own garland, putting letters on mirrors and even building a champange wall. All of these things were more then just items, they were experiences that I got to create with my Mom, my husband and friends.
